Grinding the hull

After stripping the boat completely of all its deck fittings, windows, stanchions, sprayhood etc., a start was made on sanding and grinding hull and deck.

Spraying the hull

After some repairs and careful checking of the bare material (polyester) a new gelcoat was applied. Then after a lot more sanding the first layer of primer was sprayed onto the deck and hull. Sanding again, then three more layers of "De IJssel" HighGloss double component Ivory were sprayed on.

After finishing the bottom with six layers of two component "Interprotect" the topsides were given two coats of "Sikkens High Gloss" single component black (at this moment the hull has had a complete repainting).

My Vega is standing firmly on her own steel cradle in one of the large sheds of the Tilburgse Watersport Vereniging (Tilburg Watersport Society) located on the Wilhelmina canal.
