Central Electrics junction box, heads
All cables for lights forward are connected in this junctionbox. From here all 'positive' wires run via a colour coded multi cable to the central electrics panel under the main companionway. All 'negative' wires are connected to common point in this junction box, and from there via one thick (12 mm²) earth cable to the central electrics panel.

Starting renovation toilet (1)
Originally virtually every Vega had an "open" plywood base to carry the toilet, to cater for the wash basin foot pump and the water inlet valve. This I've changed by adding a mahogany front panel with a small hatch.

Renovation toilet (2)
Access to the inlet seacock is still easy and quick, and the aesthetically unsatisfactory gap is now closed. Since I have removed the wash basin, a foot pump was no longer needed.

Renovation toilet (3)
Closeup of the mahogany front panel and sliding hatch. The new toilet now stands firmly on a 24 mm ply base, instead of the 15mm original.

Cubbet drawers up forward
Locking laths are fastened under the two drawers to prevent them opening spontaneously during sailing.
