Cabin interior

Interior completely removed!

The old wooden parts were removed from the interior and used as patterns for the new, which are all made of 8 mm Sipo mahogany plywood, and finished in six coats of Epifanes eggshell clear varnish (single component). All mahogany-ply parts were made at "GebeBouw Interior Factory" in Helmond.

Inside hull renovation

After removing all parts, so the naked hull was visible, I started applying the first layer of resin primer for perfect adhesion. Then I added two layers of light-grey bilge paint (high gloss single component).

Hull upholstery

The head-ling is off-white foam-backed upholstery fabric. The visible parts of the hull are lined with dirt- and moist resistance fabric.

Reconstruction cabin seats (1)

After painting and lining the hull, I started reconstructing the cabin seats. First I attached the base sheets for the the back panel and seat onto the hull flange with stainless steel M6 bolts. In contrast with the rest of the mahogany ply parts, I used 12 mm interior "Betonplex" for this purpose. Advantage: No need for painting, this material is fully waterproof, stronger and more durable than ordinary plywood. (true, it's a bit heavier).

Reconstruction cabin seats (2)

The seat was given extra support under the centre to prevent bending. The extra centre hatch gives easy access to the stowage space underneath the seats.
